PickleballAmongFounders

Some meetings are better played than discussed. 8 founders, four paddles, one court, every Sunday morning. No pitches. No presentations. Just the game, and the conversations that happen between the points.

Come for the game. Stay for the conversations. Leave with new connections. The pickleball is the excuse — 8 people building something, on one court, every Sunday morning, is the point.

01 · Come

For the game

Two hours of rotating doubles from 8 AM. 8 players, one court, so you play with and against every single person there. First time holding a paddle or third Sunday running, the rotation sorts it out.

  • Paddles and balls provided
  • 20-minute warm-up for first-timers
  • Everyone plays everyone

02 · Stay

For the conversations

The best founder conversations don't happen in meeting rooms. They happen between points, at the water break, walking off court. Eight is small enough that you actually talk to all of them.

  • No pitches, no presentations
  • Coffee after the last point
  • A WhatsApp group per edition

03 · Leave

With new connections

A fresh 8 every edition: founders, builders and operators from Chennai. Nebula Startup School hosts, plays, and sticks around after — bring what you're stuck on and get a straight answer.

  • Founders, builders, operators
  • The regulars keep coming back
  • The Nebula team on court with you
About Nebula Startup School

Two hours. One court.

4 Sundays in, the format hasn't changed: 8 people, four paddles, rotating doubles — everybody plays everybody before anyone goes home.

The people behind the game

A different kind of co-founder.

Nebula Startup School builds ventures alongside founders in Tamil Nadu: venture building, fractional leadership, and Nebula 1.0, an eight-week Startup School that takes a founder from idea to investment-ready. A lot of it starts here, on a Sunday morning, over a game.

Before you serve.

Everything you'd ask before booking. Anything left over, ask in the group chat once you're in, or read about Nebula Startup School.

I've never played. Can I come?

Yes — for a lot of people their first edition is their first game. Twenty minutes of rules and dinks before the first serve, then the rotation pairs you with someone who has played. Nobody is left standing at the fence.

I'm not a founder yet. Can I still come?

Yes. Founders, builders, operators, students, anyone building or about to. Showing up matters more than the title on your card.

Why only 8 players?

Because 8 is the number where you actually meet everyone. One court, two hours, rotating doubles — you play with and against all of them and leave knowing seven names, not seven faces.

Is this a networking event?

No. No pitches, no presentations, no name tags, no round of introductions. It's a game. The conversations happen on their own, between points and over coffee after.

Where do you play?

Chennai — but the court moves edition to edition. We play across the city rather than from one home court, so check the Edition card at the top of this page for the exact one. It carries a maps pin, and the same pin goes into the group chat on Saturday night.

Do I need my own paddle?

No. Paddles and balls are provided. Bring non-marking court shoes and water.

Can I bring someone?

Yes, and you both book separately — 8 spots go quickly and we can't hold one on the side.

Can I move to another edition?

Once, free, if you tell us before the Saturday 9 PM cutoff. After that the spot is yours to keep or pass to another founder.
